What it does
Arifa adds an SMS option to Ignition's alarm notification. When an alarm fires, it sends a text message through Africa's Talking, and the person who receives it can acknowledge the alarm by replying. That is all it does. Escalation, fallback routes and email are left out on purpose. Each plant handles those differently, so the module leaves them to be built around it.
Why we wrote it
We wrote Arifa for our own client projects. Africa's Talking works across African mobile networks, and SMS reaches an operator on any phone, with or without a data plan.
