Psychrometrics for Ignition

Psychrometric script and expression functions for Ignition. They turn the temperature, humidity and pressure readings a plant already has into the values engineers act on: dew point, frost point, wet bulb, moisture content, enthalpy and air density.

  • Version 0.1.0
  • Ignition 8.1 and 8.3
  • On GitHub

What it does

Expression functions for tags and bindings, and script functions under system.psychro for gateway, Perspective, Vision and Designer scripts. Pressure is always an argument, so results stay right at altitude, and invalid inputs raise an error instead of returning a wrong number.

Where it helps

  • Cold rooms and cold chains, where frost and condensation matter
  • Drying of tea, coffee and grain
  • Greenhouse climate control
  • Compressed air systems
  • Cooling towers and evaporative coolers
  • Air conditioning and cleanrooms

Accuracy

Checked against PsychroLib, the ASHRAE reference implementation, and an independent Murphy and Koop implementation below 0 °C: 34,057 results from -100 to 200 °C, run inside Ignition 8.1 and 8.3, with zero failures.
